Starting to get things turned around in 04 with winning night on Tuesday going 4-3. There are several games tonight that stand out.

West Virginia +7- Notre Dame just hasn't impressed me this year as they have really struggled at home losing to Indiana and Central Michigan as well as another close call with a cupcake. Mountaineers have enough to keep it close and possibly win it in the end.

Syracuse -12.5 - After watching Orangemen play on Saturday against MSU, I am convinced this team has gotten ship righted. They have scoring from numerous sources and throw in the fact that St. John's has given up on the season by firing Jarvis as well as their poor performance, Orangeman should blow them out in Carrier Dome. (Best Bet)

North Carolina -16.5- The Tarheels will be looking to avenge a loss down at Miami in this one. Miami is down this year and I'm sure Roy and company will want to introduce them properly to ACC basketball by blowing them out in this one. Too much talent for Tarheels.

South Carolina +3 - I look for the Gamecocks to upset Gators in this one. Florida has been a very average road team while Odom has Gamecocks up and coming while playing extremely well at home.

Penn State +3- Though I am not impressed with either of these teams, I can tell you that going and playing at Penn State is not easy. Minnesota has disappointed me with their play so far, not playing well of late, and being too one dimensional. Playing on the road in Big 10 is tough and I don't think at this point in time Gophers are good enough to win on the road.

NC State -2.5 - BYU is the better team but on the road they are very average. Playing this game across the country won't help them either in the middle of the week. Home court is the key factor as Wolfpack win this by 10. (Best Bet)

Mississippi +3 - Same scenario as the two games above. Though this is a down year for Rebels, playing their arch rival and playing it at home will be enough to get win. Playing in Oxford is a very tough place to play regardless of how good or bad Rebels are.

Western Kentucky +3.5 - The wrong team is favored as WKU in my opinion is the better team. Not only will they cover here but should win comfortably. (Best Bet)

St. Louis -3.5- Billikens have already proved they can play well on the road and throw in the fact that this TCU team in one of the worst in Conference USA, St. Louis should be able to win this game in a workmanlike way.

Illinois -16.5- Fighting Illini coming off of a horrible performance in a overtime win at home on Sat. to Illinois State, should be ready for conference opener. This might be one of the worst Buckeye teams in recent memory going back to before Jimmy Jackson era. Illinois has way too much at home. (Top Play)

Best of luck.

Kojak I think your way off on a couple of plays, Ark. St. will beat West. Kentucky, and Penn St. is not very good and just lost another player. Be careful on these! Ark St. is my top play! Good Luck!

kapusta,

I will take a closer looks at both of these games. Penn St. is not good but neither is Minny who is overrated. I will look at your post in regards to Ark St. Thanks for help and best of luck.

Co Captain,

Best of luck to you today buddy.

We are on quite a few of the same games. It's fine if Arkansas St wins as long as it is by 3 or less. Good luck tonight.

Kojak, just some further info on Penn St. -- Kaputsa mentioned that they just lost another player...DeForrest Riley quit the team -- he was their second leading scorer and rebounder...big blow to a team that was pretty poor to start with...They trailed Bucknell at the half last time out and essentially played 5 guys the whole game (their sixth man played 17 minutes) to get the win.

I agree with your thoughts that it is tough to lay points on the road with what I feel to be a not so good Minnesota team, this Penn St. program is a complete mess.

Anyway, just some info and best of luck.

Kojak...

Today is my B-DAY. I need you to tell me which of your plays is the BEST bet of the three. I want to have a winning day and will play only one play.

Thanks.

usmcmp,jimmymo,crapsn11,and jmoney,

Best of luck today. For those that are doubtful of the Penn St. pick, my suggestion is simply don't play the game. We all try to help each other and if you have doubts, I wouldn't play it. The reason I am playing it though is that even with Riley out, why is Gophers only a 3 pt favorite. This is similar to the Hawaii/Fresno St. game on Saturday where 2 top players for Fresno was out while 2nd best player for Hawaii decided to play. The line though moved 2.5 pts towards Fresno. Fresno ended up winning the game straight up. Penn St. is a play but not one of my best. Best of luck to all.

I really don't like either side of the Minny/PSU game -- just trying to add some info for anyone who wasn't aware of the PSU situation.

Knowing you're on the Lions, I'll be pulling for them -- best of luck!!

GL I'm on minny too - They had trouble with the big 12 teams nebraska and texas tech (@tech) Virginia (@virginia) and utah (@utah), but Penn State doesnt compare to those 4 teams in any way.

Penn State had trouble scoring at home against bucknell, and got wolloped by NM, Temple, rutgers(@home), and Pittsburgh, and had trouble beating Buffalo and St. Francis as well.

I think all they have to their name is a one point loss to Georgetown in the season opener(at home).

Minny has been able to take care of the lesser competition and comes into this one NEEDing some hunger and a solid win in order to preface their schedule over the next few weeks which unlike Penn State, contains some games that they at least have a chance to compete in...

I know saying they "need" the game doesn't hold much water, but thats my two cents - take it or leave it.

Minn. will win this game by a comfortable margin.

I would also urge you to double up on SW. MIzz State.

Best of Luck
